The Greater St. Louis Chapter of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) is a gathering place for sustainability practitioners and supporters that will continue to evolve as the field does so. We are members of ISSP who work to meet the many needs of our community by offering pragmatic solutions that work within, yet stretch, the existing paradigm. We are a support group for anyone who considers sustainability a part or whole of their profession and wants to develop a cohesive framework of what that means. Join in our online conversation at our LinkedIn Group

The purpose of the Greater St. Louis Chapter of ISSP is to:

  1. Provide a destination for regionally specific peer knowledge about the realities of applying sustainability concepts
  2. Be a member-driven forum for practicing and aspiring sustainability professionals to support each other in this profession and share stories of successes and challenges
  3. Encourage the pursuit of the ISSP credentials by providing peer learning and be our area’s community of practice

To become a trans-disciplinary organization promoting unique and innovative solutions that evolve to meet our real-world problems while creating a supportive and educational peer community.

Our purpose is to elevate the passions and purpose of sustainability for everyone while elevating the professional. To that end, we are open to anyone who can contribute to the peer to peer discussions. We expect all members to contribute to the knowledge base and effectiveness of our Chapter. If you have resources and experiences to share with practitioners in the greater St. Louis area, we welcome you to consider adding your energy to our activities and discussions.

We are an organization for the application of intentional pragmatic sustainability within the professional organizations and institutions of which we are a part. We are not looking to function outside of paradigms. Instead we are promoting system-thinking and a distinct mindset that considers the plausible long-term ramifications of any decision, regardless of role and responsibility, through the matrix of financial, environmental and community influences.
