WEBINAR RECORDING: Driving Sustainability Behavior Change in Large Organizations

How do organizations with thousands of employees initiate and drive behavior change to address the many sustainability and energy efficiency issues they face?

Recorded live on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 11:00 am PST / 2:00 pm EST

This session presents a case study on how the US Postal Service has orchestrated employee-led initiatives to realize over $100 million in annual economic savings, even while facing tightening fiscal pressures. It will address how programs are aligned with over-arching sustainability goals, the mix of program tools and methods used to engage employees across the organization (including interactive surveys and suggestion forums, online learning programs, ‘green team’ interaction, rewards and incentives) and how the organization tracks, measures, rewards and reports ongoing results.

The USPS change model focuses on goal-directed behaviors by aligning actions and initiatives with specific sustainability goals, promoting and motivating employee participation, and then tracking activities to specific results.  The webinar will engage participants through interactions and polls that invite their comments or experiences relative to the topics addressed. The audience will also gain insights on how to organize and execute broadscale behavior and cultural change around sustainability and energy efficiency in large organizations.

  • How change initiatives are aligned, tracked and measured to deliver ongoing results
  • How different program elements are developed and implemented to accomplish these objectives
