New Dates coming for 2019!

All sustainability professionals need to be able to assess an organization. This requires knowing what to look for and having a solid suite of practices to recommend.

This course provides sustainability professionals with an understanding of how to assess an organization's progress on the path to sustainability, identify new opportunities and develop a plan for the next stage of the journey.

Week 1: Scoping the Assessment

Week 2: Internal Assessments (featuring ISSP's S-CORE™)

Week 3: Certifications (featuring Sustainable Business Certification)

Week 4: Reporting Results and Getting Action

Click here for more information about S-CORE™. Click here for more information about the Sustainable Business Certification.

The emphasis for this course is not on becoming a licensee to use any particular assessment. (After this class, you can choose to participate in the S-CORE licensing master class for that.) Instead, S-CORE and the associated text, The Business Guide to Sustainability, will help professionals understand what full sustainability would look like ‘on the ground’ and track progress toward it. This will help you translate sustainability into the language of common organizational functions (eg, purchasing, finance, marketing).

Hear Darcy discuss the upcoming course:

Darcy Hitchcock has published 10 books, including the award winning book, The Business Guide to Sustainability and the S-CORE™ assessment. She was president of AXIS Performance Advisors, a sustainability consulting firm, for over 23 years. She taught at Bainbridge Graduate Institute’s Sustainable MBA for several years and has keynoted on the topic in places such as Doha, Qatar and Moscow, Russia. She is currently leading the Sustainability Alliance in Arizona (, a coalition of non-profits, which has among other things, developed a fast, easy but powerful business certification.
