WEBINAR: Sustainable Development Goals and YOU - the Sustainability Professional
Recorded live on Thursday, May 24th, 2018
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a golden opportunity to embrace globally agreed upon language and a framework to “end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.” This webinar will continue the conversation from a recent LinkedIn conversation about the extraordinary range of initiatives and challenges in advancing the goals. And while many organizations are already on their SDG journey, the rate of progress is far slower than needed to meet the 2030 targets.
We sat down with two former ISSP Board Presidents - Marilyn Johnson, Brand VO2, VP Platform Innovation and Jeff Yorzyk, Green Chef, Director of Sustainability to discuss numerous ways that Sustainability Professionals can engage with and support the Sustainable Development Goals.
Marilyn Johnson is an accomplished change agent who as head of corporate sustainability at IHS Markit built and led the company earn a place on the DJSI North America Index continuously since 2013, with the SDGs integrated into strategy. She now leads innovation at Brand VO2, a market-leading software platform deriving brand and business insight from online conversations.
Jeff Yorzyk is a reformed environmental and sustainability consultant now bringing it all together for one company, his dream job. Sustainability at Green Chef means looking at the business end-to-end and identifying sustainable business practices that move the entire value chain forward, from expanding organics production to coaching customers on how to recycle packaging. Green Chef’s Materiality Assessment ties directly to the SDGs.
