WEBINAR: The 8 Attributes of Successful Sustainability Leaders

Recorded live on Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Based on his book, The Battle To Do Good: Inside McDonald’s Sustainability Journey, Bob Langert, who led McDonald’s efforts for 25 years, will discuss McDonald’s fascinating and turbulent journey to try to be a responsible company over the three decades, often facing battles with the likes of PETA and Greenpeace, and facing controversial issues such as obesity, deforestation and animal treatment. He will provide an unfiltered and unsullied inside view of McDonald’s failures and successes. Most importantly, he will share example and stories about the 8 attributes of leadership that he found in common with those that forged meaningful change.

WEBINAR: The 8 Attributes of Successful Sustainability Leaders

Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET.  All registrants will receive a recording of the live webinar.

In this session, Langert discusses the 8 attributes of successful sustainability leaders, inspired by the leaders of change profiled in his book: The Battle To Do Good: Inside McDonald’s Sustainability Journey.  He shares stories and examples of how courageous leaders within the company, their supplier network, and NGO influenced forged change, despite the many obstacles, and barriers. For example, how did the head of McDonald’s global supply chain rally stakeholders to support sustainable beef goals? How did the whirling dervish, autistic animal scientist Dr. Temple Grandin, given the keys to McDonald’s supply chain, forge dramatic animal welfare advances? With McDonald’s prodding, how did a highly polluting hog company change their ways?

Participants in the webinar will learn from Langert’s and McDonald’s experience what works and doesn’t work to lead change, including how to:

  • Better evaluate and work with critical stakeholders
  • Create effective partnerships that bring value to the company and society
  • Gain practical insights on how to influence internal leaders, the most critical of all attributes for success

Don't miss these real life examples of leadership and absorb “Hard Knock Nuggets” that will help the participant learn how to be more effective sooner.
