PRESENTER: 

Deanna Bratter, Sr. Manager of Corporate Sustainability at WhiteWave Foods Company in Broomfield, Colorado, joined the company in 2005 and manages its environmental and social sustainability strategy and initiatives. 

In her role, Deanna oversees the company’s annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and key sustainability goals including reductions in GHG emissions, waste, water and improvements in the focus areas of responsible sourcing and sustainable packaging. Deanna also oversees technical reporting functions such as the annual update to the Carbon Disclosure Project and product Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) research and execution. She spearheads the creation and development of responsible sourcing programs and works with WhiteWave’s procurement and supply chain to integrate sustainability goals and metrics into its purchasing strategies.

Deanna also sets goals and supports programs for the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental footprint through strategic environmental programs for WhiteWave’s brands including Silk Plant Based Beverages, Horizon Organic Dairy and International Delight. In 2013 Deanna worked to establish a founding partnership with Change the Course, a program of National Geographic, Bonneville Environmental Foundation and WhiteWave to support water restoration, conservation, engagement and education. In 2014, she led the development and publication of the company’s first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report which can be viewed at www.whitewave.com/csr

Deanna obtained certificate in Sustainability Leadership and Implementation from the University of Denver and holds dual bachelor degrees from the University of South Florida. She has completed Six Sigma Management and GRI training and recently completed Aligning Sustainability and Corporate Performance Program at Harvard Business School.
