The International Society of Sustainability Professionals and the Green Sports Alliance are teaming up to host an online webinar about how to successfully engage fans and stadium vendors in greening up sporting events.
Green Sports Alliance will introduce the panelists:
Sissy Burkhart, Cleaning Operations Manager, Pittsburgh Pirates; Bram Reynolds, General Manager, Facilities of Global Spectrum @ Citizens Bank Park with Mary Ann Gettis, Manager, Marketing Initiatives Philadelphia Phillies; and Jami Leveen, Director, Marketing and Environmental Stewardship, Aramark.
Sissy Burkhart will share the Pirates "Let's Go Bucs. Let's Go Green." program that integrates greening initiatives, sustainable business practices and educational outreach. The program's launch in 2008 marked the beginning of a dedicated effort by the Pirates and PNC Park partners CB Richard Ellis, ARAMARK and Levy Restaurants to be more environmentally conscious in their collective efforts to go green moving forward.
Bram Reynolds and Mary Ann Gettis will present on the Philadelphia Phillies’ "Red Goes Green" program, initiated in 2008. Mary Ann will speak to the Phillies’ community efforts surrounding the Red Goes Green program-fan outreach through the Red Goes Green Team, eCycle event with Waste Management, Home Runs for Trees with Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, as well as their employee efforts.
Jami Leveen will speak to ARAMARK’s goals as a concessionaire to make a wide variety of sustainability menu alternatives available to the fans while promoting and offering in-venue sustainable behavior such as recycling and composting along with proactive communications and employee engagement.
