This course provides experienced sustainability professionals with a deep understanding of how to assess an organization's progress on the path to sustainability, identify new opportunities, and develop a plan for the next stage of the journey, using ISSP’s S-CORE™ assessment. Participants will learn how sustainability should weave itself into all parts of an organization. The course will cover the ten common functional areas and practices common to all organizations. S-CORE™ is an effective tool for many types of complex organizations, including governments, factories, and institutions of higher education.

Participants who successfully complete this course will be licensed to use S-CORE™. The core of this course is a practicum, where a Master S-CORE™ Assessor will support you in the completion of your first assessment. This course will take place over three months, with one 1.5-hour live webinar per month. In this time, we will:

  • Prepare you to facilitate an assessment
  • Review the client data
  • Review your report before sending it to the client
  • Help you reflect on the experience and define next steps

Through a hands-on approach, you will prepare for and conduct a full S-CORE™ assessment and receive detailed feedback on your findings, recommendations, and report. The online, remote course includes group coaching sessions (one per month), online activities with your cohort, and individual meetings with instructors.

Once you are licensed, you can use S-CORE™ Assessment system and database in your organization or consulting practice, paying only the administrative fee to use the online system (currently $50 per use for ISSP members, with your first assessment free).  Conducting annual S-CORE™ assessments with clients will maintain your license.
