The “Leadership Skills for Change Agents“ course prepares sustainability professionals at any level in the organizational hierarchy, and external consultants / advisors, to lead an organizational change toward a sustainable enterprise. It helps sustainability professionals apply timeless leadership practices to ensure successful sustainability initiatives. At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Use a proven seven-step sustainability change process to lead the integration of sustainability into an organization’s culture.
- Build an effective, relevant, comprehensive business case to earn the necessary support from senior management for their sustainability initiatives.
- Apply seven effective change leadership practices during the sustainability change process, capitalize on seven change paradoxes, and avoid seven potential derailers of their initiatives.
- Help the company assess its progress toward the 21 environmental and social goals of a truly sustainable enterprise.
Your online course experience, from pre-work to deliverable completion, is November 1 through 30. The course is delivered online via the Internet so you participate from your computer for both the live weekly webinars and for the 24/7 online 'classroom' experience. Successful completion of this course can be applied towards a core credit towards the ISSP Sustainability Professionals Certificate. You will receive a free (gifted from Bob) downloadable e-book copy of The Sustainability Champion's Guidebook which is used as the text for the course.
Bob Willard is a leading expert on quantifying and selling the business value of corporate sustainability strategies. Bob applies his business and leadership experience to engage the business community in proactively avoiding risks and capturing opportunities associated with environmental and social issues. He previously worked 34 years with IBM Canada, “retiring” in 2000. He serves on the boards of Forum for the Future U.S. and the Future-Fit Foundation, and serves on the B Lab Standards Advisory Council. He was inducted into the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) Hall of Fame in 2011, received a Clean50 award in 2015, and is a three-time winner of a “Best for the World Overall” award for B Corps. This course meets four times in November with access to online materials beginning November 5. Live online sessions are held on November 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2017 at 4:00pm Pacific Time for 60 to 90 minutes.
How course status works: Participants who choose to audit will have full access to live webinars, discussion forums, and all online course materials. Participants who choose to audit do not have to complete homework assignments or quizzes (although there will still be readings), do not receive grades or feedback on assignments, and do not recieve a final grade.
Participants seeking credit have to complete - and pass - all homework assignments and quizzes. Successful completion of these requirements will earn a passing grade and an individualized Certificate of Completion, along with a credit which can be applied towards completion of the ISSP Educational Certificate Program.
