ISSP Sees Continued Momentum With New Leadership Team, First-Of-Its-Kind Member Survey And On-Demand Courses
July 2018 - ISSP today announced continued momentum with the election of its 2018-2019 Leadership Team, results obtained from their first-of-its-kind member survey, and newly available on-demand courses. The Leadership Team has already assumed their respective roles. ISSP’s Board of Directors has also just welcomed two new members who will be strengthening the connection with ISSP’s credentialing partner, Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). Sarah Alexander is the Senior Vice President of Credentialing and Certification at GBCI and will add her extensive credentialing experience to the ISSP Board. Harry Gordon, FAIA, LEED Fellow, is the Vice Chair of the GBCI Board of Directors and and Chair of the GBCI Finance and Audit Committee. Read more here.
ISSP Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
February 2018 - ISSP is celebrating this quarter its tenth year in service. Established as a 501(c)(3) in 2008, ISSP was a pioneer in empowering, supporting and promoting the efforts of professionals making sustainability standard practice. What began as a volunteer-led initiative in the Pacific Northwest has grown to an organization with a dedicated staff and members all over the world that is now playing a crucial role in taking the field mainstream through certification, knowledge sharing, and research. ISSP Looks Forward To New Year and Putting its Partnership with GBCI into Action
January 2018 - ISSP is looking forward to the New Year and putting their partnership with Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) into action. The two organizations will work to improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of sustainability professionals everywhere, and cross-market their existing credentials. December 2017 - ISSP is celebrating the one-year anniversary of launching its Sustainability Professional Credential Program. This milestone comes on the heels of the organization joining forces with Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) to advance green and sustainable business practices through professional credentialing. 2017-2018 Leadership Team Elected By ISSP
July 2017 - A new Leadership Team has been elected by the ISSP Board of Directors. The new officers assume their roles as the organization continues to grow its ISSP Sustainability Professional Certification Program and increase its capacity through partnerships with Organizational Members and Education Partners. May 2017 - ISSP and Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) announced a partnership that will advance their shared values and goal of working toward a future where society thrives within the limits of natural systems, and contributes effectively to their regeneration. ISSP Opens Registration for ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional Credential Exam
April 2017 - Applications are now being accepted for the ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional (ISSP-CSP) credential exam. As part of the world’s first globally recognized certification program for sustainability professionals, ISSP-CSP designation recognizes candidates who have demonstrated a combination of sustainability-related work experience and formal education, provided recommendations from their peers, and have achieved a passing grade on both the ISSP Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA) and ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional (ISSP-CSP) credential exams. Study Guide Now Available for ISSP Sustainability Associate Exam
February 2017 - The International Society of Sustainability Professionals has announced the publication of the first in a series of two Study Guides designed to prepare ISSP Sustainability Professional Certification candidates for their credentialing exams. November 2016 - The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) announced today the opening of registration for the ISSP Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA) credential exam. This launch is the result of a multi-year, open, transparent development process involving hundreds of sustainability professionals and partner organizations who have contributed to the content and administrative processes of the ISSP Sustainability Professional Certification program. June 2016 - ISSP has introduced a new Organizational Membership category that provides companies and non-profit groups with an opportunity to support the mission of ISSP along with a package of benefits that includes enhanced access to the ISSP community and individual ISSP membership benefits for their employees. June 2016 - The ISSP Board of Directors has elected a new Leadership Team for ISSP’s 2016-2017 fiscal year. Momentum Builds for ISSP Sustainability Professional Certification
May 2016 - ISSP has released the names of the latest group of individuals who have successfully completed the beta test of the globally recognized ISSP Sustainability Professional Certification Program. Since beta testing of the certification program began last summer, more than 240 people worldwide have earned either an ISSP-SA or ISSP-CSP certification. Read more here.
ISSP Makes Additions to Board of Directors
March 2016 - ISSP announced that six new members have been elected to the ISSP Board of Directors. The new board members from Australia, Germany, Indonesia and the United States will serve two-year terms. Read more here.
First Cohort of Certified Sustainability Professionals Announced By ISSP
February 2016 - ISSP announced the names of more than 50 people in the first group to earn the ISSP Certified Sustainability Professional (ISSP-CSP) designation. April 2015 - The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) has announced its support of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) initiative in the creation of a Sustainability Professional Certification. AASHE supports the development of this program through engagement of its Advisory Council who will provide feedback on the certification’s development to represent the AASHE community at-large. ISSP To Offer Five-Day Training Session in Jakarta This Summer
April 2015 - In partnership with its Indonesia Chapter, ISSP will offer face-to-face training in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 18-22, 2015. This week-long training session includes five of the eight courses required for the ISSP Certificate Training Program, which blends sustainability concepts and practices with organizational change theory to provide participants with the leadership skills and knowledge to lead a sustainability program. ISSP Launches Regional Chapter for Tennessee-Arkansas-Mississippi
March 2015 - ISSP is working together with two of its members, Mary Singer and Dr. Sarah Lewis PhD, to form a new chapter of the organization covering the Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi regions. The inaugural meeting of the Tennessee-Arkansas-Mississippi chapter will be held in conjunction with the First Annual Earth Month Business Conference (EMBC) of Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee on April 7th in Memphis. International Society of Sustainability Professionals Welcomes Maureen Hart As New Executive Director
February 2014 - Maureen Hart has been chosen by the Board of Directors of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) as the group's new Executive Director. Hart replaces Marsha Willard, who served as ISSP's Executive Director since 2008.
