ISSP Branding Guidelines

ISSP branding guidelines

These guidelines will help our individual members, organizational members, partners, and network to use our brand assets consistently and correctly. Help protect our brand and the significance of membership by following these guidelines carefully. If you have any questions, please contact us at marketing@sustainabilityprofessionals.org. Expect 1-3 business days delay in response.

General guidelines

The ISSP name and logo can only be used if you have an active membership or partnership, and you have connected with your ISSP contact to secure the high resolution logo and formal approval from the ISSP marketing team. The ISSP name and logo should never be used in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation with the brand where such a relationship does not exist. All references must be honest and accurate, and you can’t incorporate the ISSP name or logo into your own name.

Do:

  • Use the appropriate logo as relevant to your connection with ISSP.
  • If you are a partner, you can use the primary ISSP logo as outlined in your partner agreement.
  • If you are an organizational member, you should use the organizational member logo, aligned with those specific guidelines below.
  • If you are an individual member, please reach out to marketing@sustainabilityprofessionals.org for written approval to use for select purposes. You cannot use the primary logo in your email signature or in any way that would imply certification or endorsement of your skills.
  • Adhere to proper clear space. To remain completely legible and ensure that the ISSP logo is presented in the best possible namer, a minimum buffer zone of “clear space” should always be maintained around the entire perimeter of the logo. Other logos, graphics, or copy should be kept out of this zone.
  • Proportions must stay consistent when the logo is resized. To ensure legibility, never use the ISSP logo with an overall width that is less than 2.0 inches.

Don't:

  • Mimic, copy, modify, or incorporate the ISSP logo into your own logo.
  • Use the ISSP name or logo as the primary element or in a way that’s equal to your brand elements, and don’t lock up the ISSP logo with your own logo/icon.
  • Use the ISSP name or logo as part of your organization's name, logo, domain name or brand name for a product or service. The ISSP name shouldn't be used as a verb or incorporated into another word.
  • Add the ISSP name or logos on products, labels, and packaging. This includes materials such as online resources, virtual products, educational offerings, credential resources, etc. ISSP does not review, certify, or endorse third-party products or services, and ISSP's logos must not be used under any circumstances in the following ways:
  • To suggest or indicate any kind of endorsement by ISSP of any product or service;
  • To indicate that an official status for any product or service has been conferred by, or is otherwise associated with ISSP;
  • To show any kind of relationship with ISSP aside from those permitted by the guidelines specified for each proprietary logo or as mutually agreed upon by the user and ISSP through a written signed agreement.
  • Name a social media account, podcast, or other communications in a way that could be confused with an ISSP account.

ISSP also owns white versions of the logo for use on dark backgrounds. Please request this format from marketing@sustainabilityprofessionals.org.

Organizational member logo guidelines

Do:

  • Use the member logo if your ISSP membership is in active standing. The logo can be used in business and marketing materials, including but not limited to stationery, letterhead, business cards, print ads, brochures, flyers, tradeshow exhibit materials, and signage.
  • Request the member logo from ISSP using this inquiry form.
  • Contact the ISSP marketing team with any questions.

Don’t:

  • Use the member logo if your ISSP organizational membership is terminated or lapsed.
  • Use previous ISSP member logo designs. The solid navy logo with serif font was retired more than a year ago.
  • Use the member logo if you are a partner or an individual member; this is reserved for organizations.
