2022 Programs Report

A Message from ISSP's Executive Director

The demand for sustainability expertise is soaring worldwide. Yet when ISSP was first formed in 2008, the sustainability field was almost unknown with few resources and no standardization.

15 years later, the profession is thriving with leaders in every industry.

Sustainability professionals now stand out as connectors, innovators, and advocates. Whatever your path to this mission, I thank you for your commitment to a better future.

In ISSP’s Programs Report, we invite you to explore how we celebrate and support the progress of this inspiring network of professionals:

  • 28% increase in ISSP membership worldwide
  • 37 live professional development and networking events
  • 3000+ trainees enrolled in on-demand courses
  • Hundreds of SEA and SEP active credential-holders across 52 countries
  • And more! (See page 5 for more significant milestones.)

I am proud to work alongside every member in this network to accelerate action. Our members span 94 different countries, representing diverse cultures, workplaces, and passions. Yet we share a common purpose: to pave the way for a regenerative future aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

On behalf of the ISSP Staff and Governing Board, thank you for all the ways you’ve already come together as a community to drive positive change. Here’s to more partnerships to create a world that thrives sustainably for generations to come.
